Philippine Ballet Inspired by Marinduque's Morions
When you heard the phrase Philippine dance, most will usually associate it with the world famous Bayanihan dancers. The Bayanihan dancers specialized on ethnic folk dances old and new. But the Philippines has a ballet company, not as popular as the Bayanihan dancers but has presentation comparable to other ballet companies in the world. The ballet in this video was choreographed by Angel Locsin, inspired by the Morions of Marinduque. There are other ballet (Filipino) in this video set perform by the Philippines Ballet Company. The second video was recorded last year when the two principal dancers of Ballet Philippines bag roles in the Russian ballet Don Quijote for this year. Enjoy.
